Decathlon Cadiz opened on March 9, 2018 as the 167th store in Spain of the French multinational. Located in the center of the city, in Plaza Topete 3, also known as Plaza de las Flores. The event was attended by Javier Lopez, the General Manager in Spain of the French brand specialized in sporting goods. The new store offers some 1,200m2 and more than 110 sports disciplines to its customers, who can count on the help of a staff of 20 sports enthusiasts to advise them.
This new project was led by GMD Solutions, which executed the different civil works and installation projects for these premises, as well as being in charge of the project management. These premises in the heart of the capital of Cádiz, formerly known as Galerías Soriano, was refurbished in about 3 months and equipped with air conditioning, low voltage, LED lighting, intrusion and CCTV, and fire protection installations. The PCI pressure group was replaced by a model capable of supplying the fire hydrant systems and sprinklers with a flow rate of 115m3/h and a pressure of 8bar.
The store also has a stoneware floor in the salesroom with 60x60cm tiles perfectly aligned with the false ceiling. This is the first time that this type of floor has been installed in a Decathlon store in Spain. In addition, touch screens were integrated into some of the pillars in a very elegant way to allow customers to consult all Decathlon products.
The companies OCP (civil works), Iberext (PCI), Instalaciones Industriales Somains (electricity), TH Mantenimiento (air conditioning), Grupo Agüero (intrusion and CCTV), and ProjectSign (signage) participated in the execution of the Decathlon Cádiz, doing a fantastic job to deliver this unique work on time.
This is the second city center Decathlon store developed by GMD Solutions after the Decathlon Princesa at the end of 2017.
