GMD Solutions participated between the last quarter of 2017 and the whole of 2018 in the execution project of Logroño’s new bus station. Specifically, the Riojan UTE Agua y Jardín-Ismael Andrés-Vías y Construcciones was the contractor in charge of executing the works and hired the services of a production manager from the GMD Solutions team to coordinate the various trades. Our technician remained on site for a year, successfully completing the management and production work.

The Logroño bus station, a landmark of Riojan architecture, was developed by the well-known architectural firm Ábalos+Sentkiewicz, with the participation of the landscape designer Teresa Galí and the engineering firm TYPSA in the calculation of the complex structure of the dome that links the bus station with the train station located in the same transport complex.

The construction budget exceeded 14.5 million euros and represented an important step forward for the infrastructure of the capital of La Rioja.

The project included the construction of a new two-story passenger station with a total surface area of 9,412 m2. It has a building that houses the cafeteria, waiting areas, and bus platforms.

Additionally, an extension of the Felipe VI Park was also part of the project, extending over a dome that joins both stations. Specifically, the expansion will mean an increase of 27,322m2 that will give the park a total area of ​​60,000m2. However, the most spectacular execution was the dome that joins the two buildings and that required a large metal structure of 540 tons.

The opening of the station is scheduled for this year 2021, given that the current Covid 19 pandemic has generated considerable delays.
