During the second half of 2022, GMD Solutions adapted a logistics warehouse for the luxury fashion house Loewe in the town of Getafe, Madrid. The building is very close to the A4 highway and has a total surface area of 25,000m2 on a plot of more than 40,000m2. It features offices on the first floor, 30 loading/unloading docks, high and low shelves, and an automated hanging garment system. This facility replaces Loewe’s previous logistics center and is the central hub for distributing the brand’s products throughout Spain.

GMD drafted the activity project, encompassing civil engineering, fire protection, low voltage, and data systems. During April, the raw building was handed over by the owner. GMD checked the building, advised Loewe on signing the contract, and managed the various tenders for fitting out the premises. Construction commenced in early May, and within three months, it was delivered to Loewe for operational initiation, thanks to the efforts of selected companies: Vera&Baño (civil engineering), FireConsult (fire protection), Somains (low voltage and data), and Prosegur (security). GMD acted as project manager and handled the various administrative formalities (licenses, legalizations, and tax management). Throughout the construction, Mecalux participated in shelf assembly, Modumaq in conveyor installation, and Moinsa designed and installed the hanging garment system under our supervision.

Finally, GMD drew up the building’s self-protection plan in collaboration with Loewe’s occupational risk prevention department and held several training sessions for the heads of the more than 80 people working in the center daily in various teams. The warehouse, named Orión, is poised to tackle future challenges of the international society based in Spain and a part of the LVHM group, which has witnessed continuous growth over the past months.
