During the first half of July 2022, the new establishment of the multinational REDUR in the town of Guarromán, Jaén, came into operation.
GMD Solutions carried out all the work of project drafting, project management, and management of licenses and legalizations with the different institutions: town hall, the Industrial delegation, and the Junta de Andalucía; carrying out integral management of the project, from its design to the completion of the execution and commissioning.
The center, located in a first-class logistics enclave in the Iberian Peninsula, is at the forefront of logistics and distribution, with 48 docks for trailers, equipped with a hydraulic platform and automatic door, as well as 12 additional positions for vans, from which deliveries can be made within the area.
The logistics warehouse has a total area of more than 4,500m2, with an administrative area, changing rooms, and a rest area for personnel. The prefabricated structure, consisting of pillars, delta beams, and purlins, allows the space to be completely diaphanous, without any intermediate pillars, creating an ideal surface area for carrying out the transit of goods from this removal center, where more than 320,000 kilograms are received and processed daily.
The exterior urbanization, which is essential for maneuvering the trucks and vans, has more than 13,000m2 of concrete floor developed especially for this type of application by one of the leading companies in the execution of industrial floors, RINOL ROCLAND.
Leading companies in the area of logistics have participated in the construction, such as VEROSA, an Andalusian construction company that is also developing the REDUR logistics center in Malaga; Gil Urzay, a specialist in low and medium voltage electrical installations, and the Italian company CAMPISA specializing in docks and sectional doors, which landed in Spain with the help of REDUR.
This center, which will also specialize in distributing pharmaceutical material, is fully air-conditioned. For this purpose, a refrigerated system was installed in the interior paneling of the building and a refrigerated walkable ceiling. The execution has been carried out by the manufacturer TAVER, which specialized in this type of installation.
The air conditioning is provided by three Rooftop units from the commercial company CIAT connected to fiber duct distribution networks. The installation was executed by the Spanish air conditioning company TH Mantenimiento.
The installation of a 44-outlet sorter from VANDERLANDE will give the center a much higher delivery capacity than at present, allowing a great leap in quality for REDUR’s customers.
As a result of the integral air conditioning and the sorter, the center will have a high energy demand, so in parallel to the logistics warehouse itself, we installed a 400kVAs transformer station that will serve in Medium Voltage to REDUR Guarromán.
With this project, GMD Solutions continues its professional relationship with the Spanish multinational, becoming its reference engineering company for the development of numerous logistics projects. In addition to those already carried out in Coruña or Vitoria, there is the new warehouse under construction in Valladolid, and the future installation in Bilbao.
