GMD Solutions developed the design and construction management of the refurbishment of Decathlon Princesa, in Madrid. Among the projected facilities, a new more efficient air conditioning system, a LED lighting mesh, and a completely new Fire Protection and Anti Intrusion system stand out.
On November 24, 2017, Decathlon opened its second store in the center of Madrid, on Princesa Street. The sales room of this new store is spread over two floors where the French brand offers its customers its entire range of products in more than 110 disciplines. The total surface area of this store is 1,850m2, including staff areas and technical rooms.
GMD Solutions carried out the various civil engineering and installation projects for this new store and acted as project manager during the construction work. The renovation of the premises, which was a cinema during the 60s, was executed in less than 4 months, including the change of the entire air conditioning system, lighting, electrical installation, fire detection and extinguishing systems, and the reform of the entire interior architectural part. The generator set and the fire-fighting water pumps set were replaced, LED lights were installed in all the rooms, and the existing air-conditioning units were replaced by more modern and efficient models. In addition, two digital advertising screens were placed in the shop windows overlooking one of the most emblematic streets of the capital.
Crealia (civil works), INELT (PCI, air conditioning, and electricity), Grupo Agüero (intrusion and CCTV), and ProjectSign (signage) are the companies that participated in this reform.
