Infrared (1310nm) light source

GMD developed an infrared light source for the Institute of Solar Energy (IES) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) with the aim of measuring the current produced by one of the layers of multijunction photovoltaic cells. The light source emits in the infrared at a wavelength of 1310nm with a spectral bandwidth of about 5nm. The emitted light is focused at a 55mm-distance with a beam size around 200μm. The source includes control electronics that allows output power stabilization and regulation up to 5nW through a USB port.
